WSS 3.0 and DOMAIN\tfsservice account permissions

It has been a few days since the upgrade to TFS 2008 Beta 2 and my in-place upgrade of WSS to version 3 — I have been watching my logs for errors.

I started to get these errors in my event log today:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {61738644-F196-11D0-9953-00C04FD919C1} to the user DOMAIN\tfsservice SID (S-1-5-21-642452969-865701948-1001667348-1149). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I had to adjust the permissions for the IIS WAMREG component and grant tfsservice launch and activation permissions.

All should be well now.
