I ordered the Samsung Focus phone online from Rogers on a Monday and it was delivered to me by Thursday afternoon. My old phone was an HTC HD2 running WM 6.5 which I loved due to the 4.3” display and touch screen, I was originally going to get the HTC HD7 but the fact that the HD7 would only support EDGE data speeds on the Rogers network and the display was not anywhere as nice as the Samsung Super AMOLED I opted for the Focus.
My first week with the phone has been awesome, the WP7 OS is so fluid and combined with the HSPA data (3G+), AMOLED display, plus the device is so light (121 grams) I could not believe it. I am so glad to not have to use WM 6.5 anymore, even though my outlook email client got upgraded the week before.
The initial setup was easy, I dropped in my SIM and booted up the phone. I was prompted for my Windows Live ID as part of the setup and it configured my Hotmail and downloaded my contacts.
I then configured my Exchange 2010 email account, Facebook, and downloaded a twitter application from Windows Market Place.
The battery life has been great as long as I don’t use the Wi-Fi too much.

Oh man! That LOOKS SWEET! I wish I could see it in real life. Really, ya, really, I really do wish I could see on in real life! hahah Enjoy!

Question, how come you needed the MAC address?

I did not but maybe some people might restrict access to their WiFi networks via MAC address.

Congrats on the new phone. I picked up the LG Optimus on Telus yesterday… unfortunately my wife has already claimed it as hers foregoing the iPhone. The LG’s great screen and the WP7 user experience has snagged her. Oh well, guess I’m off to the store again next week to pick up a second one.
