Team Foundation Server Trial Expirations

The 6 month trial period is fast approaching, Brian Harry has blogged about this topic and included a link to the MSDN article.

In the article under "Product Key Considerations" they mention:

If you acquired Team Foundation Server through a volume licensing program, you will not have an individual product key to provide during the upgrade process. You must contact Visual Studio Developer Professional Support in order to obtain a product key for the upgrade.

This is not necessarily true, if you have your TFS install you can run the setup on a different server and it will display the Product Key.  Make note of it and then on your TFS server go to Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server and click "Change/Remove" and enter your product key.

This way you will not have to contact support.
