August 2011 TFS 2010 Power Tools

The latest version of the TFS Power Tools have been released, no more need to uninstall and install anymore this version will upgrade an existing installation.

Here are the download links:

If you are looking for a description of the latest release I recommend heading over to this blog post by Brian Harry where he describes the features in the latest release.

During an upgrade install you may get a dialog about two (2) running processes if you had a previous version of the Windows Shell Extensions installed

  • TfsComProviderSvr.exe
  • Explorer.exe

If you don’t terminate these processes and choose ignore it will cause you to be prompted to reboot your machine after the upgrade to complete the installation.
